Heather Hale is a rare triple threat: a right-brain creative with left-brain financial savvy, backed up by two decades of entertainment industry expertise. Ms. Hale moves seamlessly between screenplays to spreadsheets – and back again – intuitively connecting the right people with the best projects and resources at the perfect price points. She is as proficient with words and numbers as she is with people and industry jargon and legalese.
Fiduciary Responsibility
Before working in Hollywood (after working abroad in Japan), Ms. Hale was awarded a California Senate Commendation for her community activism and prudent fiscal planning. But it started at home. Her first (and favorite) business partner was her late father, an SEC-licensed certified financial planning and DRE-licensed mortgage broker with whom she founded and ran a mortgage company, functioning as its CFO (and top-producing loan officer) for nearly a decade. From childhood, Ms. Hale was raised to have a profound respect for – and always honor – her fiduciary responsibility to her investors.

I treat my financiers the way I want to be treated: with fair and ethical respect. I provide prompt, accurate, transparent, and thorough disclosure throughout the entire process from literary development and soft-prep to pre-production, principal photography, and post-production through distribution and marketing.
After establishing in advance expenditure and workflow approval protocols and your desired level of involvement, I keep my equity investors and stakeholders apprised of all pertinent matters. Some investors are focused on their businesses or other creative endeavors while others opt to be more hands-on, engaged in major decisions ranging from pre-approving and authorizing budgeted line items to streamline the day-to-day expenditure minutia to vetting shortlists for cast and Department Heads to serving on location as one of two or three required signers on the production checking account to approving (or having an equal vote) on key art to establishing parameters for distribution deals.
